Gone

No more posts. I've moved on to more important things. FFXI was a nice distraction, but time for the real world once again. Take care all!

All things Chocobo

No Wai! I'm back once again. (If anyone even READS this thing -_-) I've been busy getting myself all established in my new place, haven't really had the inkling to post until now.

Well, we all know about Final Fantasy 14 online being announced, I'm excited to start a new game, but that means finishing ffxi. (At least story wise)

Anyway, lately, while waiting for my lazy buns boyfriend to get his butt leveled enough for us to start doing story lines, I've taken to all things Chocobo.

Above is a picture of my current pride and joy GreenOlive, my digger, and the chocobo that makes me all my gil. I have two being raised simultaneously, one being a Male Green and the other being a Male Blue. (About time I got some males!) They should be reaching adulthood by next week sometime, and I'm excited. The Blue named LordZippy, is going to be my uber racer. I've been doing chocobo races on my current red one (ok stats but not a champion by any means.) to get the tokens needed to max out his stats in the end.

The other day, I was also excited to dig up my first ever Elemental Ore doing my normal route in Chocobo Digging! :) Other than that, GreenOlive has been making my the big gils with Coral Fragments and various ores in the Deserts.
I've been giving a lot of the Iron Ingots to the boy to help level his Alchemy for his Corsair Bullets, but even after that I'm making a mint. I came back and made more money than I left with lol. -_-

As far as leveling goes, I've got Red Mage to 58, it's my new Job of the Month hehe. I really am enjoying it, and I look forward to some of the solo freedom it will give me when I get it to 75. (Going to do a prime Avatar run around!!!!)

Ciao!

Mule goodness

So I've been working on my "mule" (tempted to turn her into my main character but I've put way too much work into Kelvena) the past few days I have gotten her Aht Urgahn Access, a Mog Locker through getting one of the Staging Points. A level 12 running through an area packed with level 80+ mobs was rather scary but I've done it before on Kelvena (got her all her a lot of stuff at very early levels, including unlocking Corsair at level 30 alone).

She has an anniversary ring left over from last year that I've been meaning to burn (I like the idea of having a mule that can Choco around and such.) so I've been working on that slowly. That way she can grab another one (I hope) from the Moogle for this year. :)

Meanwhile, on Kelvena, I've been slowly solo leveling (with a Trio/party between my boyfriend and Chup+ friends sometimes) White Mage and Red Mage when I get bored here at home. Lately, I've been busy getting settled here at home, and the spring weather always makes me want to go out more than sit at home. (Incidentally, I always Quit WoW around this time of year...oO)

My purpose for my New York trip went well too, which makes me happy.

Flashback time

I spent the better part of today and yesterday re-viewing a lot of the missions I had done thus far in WoTG. (today is ToAU watching day hehe) It's been a fair amount of time and I feel to grasp what the hell is going on right now, I need to watch some things over hehe. Incidentally, I took screens of said cut scenes, since I got lazy and didn't the first time. :) So far, design wise, I think I like Lilisette's design and attitude the most. They did a really nice job on her design and the new cut scenes are more vibrant and well animated than the older ones. :) And Caith Sith is freaking creepy lol. I love it! (picture of him being held by his ears down below. :P )

Also, I'm working on getting Dancer to 37 for sub job purposes. It's at 32 and already I'm taking it into Campaign as Sam/Dnc for survivability. And I must say, it is much easier to stay alive, since I always pull hate anyway. Also getting a lot more xp for my efforts since I can solo certain mobs. (if they are mages, nuh uh....they are mean.)

I believe I'm doing a Dynamis Sandy tonight my new shell, should be interesting. However, not sure how I'm going to manage to stay up that late (they do their events in the uber late hours of the night.) since I have asshat neighbors who think hammering at 8am is ok. 4 hours of sleep makes for a cranky Kelvena. ><

I'm still trying to re-establish myself again. Takes some adjusting but for the most part, it's familiar and I feel back at home again. My goals this time are:
1. Don't overplay. It takes the fun out of the game.
2. Don't overcraft. Esp. on expensive ones like Goldsmithing. It's depressing tossing the gil out the window.
3. Don't fall into a horribly boring routine ingame like last time.
4. Don't become a doormat for lazy asses who always want a power leveler. *nods*

Pretty simple goals. :P

On Saturday I get to go away for almost a week, will be nice to go on a mini vacation and get out with the boy. Just hope the actual purpose of my trip goes well. :P

Back again!

Back into the game after another few months off. I decided that, FFXI is indeed, time consuming, however, it's not "Soul Sucking" like WoW is. I can at least log on when I feel the need, play for a bit, be happy, and log off. WoW....is addictive, not sure exactly why it is so addictive, as it's pretty monotonous.

I was raiding 6 nights a week for the last few weeks, and I finally hit my burn out this week. I am flying out of town for a very important interview in New York City, so I purposely did not schedule myself for any raids this week. It was a great week....I got to spend actual time with my boyfriend (who plays too, but it's not the same as actually spending time TOGETHER, and not with 23 other people who we may or may not like depending.) I got to poke around in FFXI, and realize that I really did miss it....
My boyfriend and I came to the same conclusion, especially after reading an old livejournal entry pertaining to WoW way back when we first started dating, and it's the same as it was then. The game is getting in the way, and it's no longer becoming a fun past-time, it's like a job and where is the fun in that? You get to 80 and there's only two options, raid or pvp. Raiding requires time and 24 other people of the proper gear and makeup to do right.... And of course there's always the asshats who completely ruin the fun. Ulduar is really pretty (for Blizzard at least...Square wins on coolness factor still), and it's very challenging, but there's really nothing other than getting gear and replacing the gear a week later with something else.....I ask myself what's the point?

Friends? No, WoW friendships are fleeting and well, they aren't friendships at all really. (minus like...the odd one here and there, but it's very rare.) No one seems to legitimately care about the other person. Most people either don't converse at all, are thick and say "ah" to everything until you get frustrated and shut up, or just stop talking altogether halfway through. In my WoW career I think I have like..2-3 people I still keep in touch with, and 1 I hardly ever talk to.

I came back to FFXI and had 3 tells within the first hour of being on from people I didn't think remembered me saying "Welcome Back!". It was nice to be remembered. My old friend Chupa is still around, it's good to be back among some friendly faces! :D His Linkshell memebers are also quite nice as well, I enjoy their antics. (And they let me tag along to their Dynamis's even when I said I wasn't sure about endgame and just wanted to try it out to see.)

For now, I have a lot on my plate, and if this NYC thing goes well, it will be a very busy time for me, so I will be playing casually. I need to get away from WoW, spend some time with my love, and work on getting my life all back on track. :)

Revenge of the Butter!

So, with the extended Maint. on WoW, I decided to fish a bit in FFXI today. Hit the cap I think...o_o (for the day haha)

After that, I hopped on to my chocodigging mule and came out with a nice haul of ores from my new choco digging spot. Will need to break them down into ingots later, but I'm too lazy to right now.

Soooo, then I decide I want to try to make a bazzar, to actually start what I was planning originally before I left for almost 6 months. I then thought of my cooking mule. 72 cooking...there are so many things I can make, and I'm just letting her sit there..So! I hope on to her, notice her inventory is packed with random ingredients, meats, fish, you name it. I quickly pull up wiki and have a looksie.

About two hours later, I now have my Sandy Mule (only 30 items viewable...but Sandy seems well traveled and the cooking guild isn't there, so less competition) loaded with all sorts of random goodies for sale when I'm afk or sleeping. I've just got to come up with a creative place to park her for good, and always leave her there. It's what I did with my old mule, inkpen hehehe.

Looking through all these recipes though...I'm ashamed of myself for being so lazy. There are SO many awesome things I can be making for myself, the patisser key item allows me to make those great group effect treats. I can make sushi since I have Raw Fish Handling.....why did I not use this to my advantage more...o-0

Hatted

Yay! Finally got my full Black Mage Artifact set!
